Gazprom confirms seeking to raise gas price for Poland
MOSCOW, Nov 10 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Gazprom Export confirmed on Tuesday that it sent an application to Poland’s PGNiG seeking to raise the price of gas supplies starting from November.
“Acting in accordance with the terms of the contract, Gazprom Export on November 9 (Monday) sent a proposal to Poland’s PGNiG to revise the price in the contract for gas supplies from November 2020 towards its increase,” a spokesperson for the company told reporters.
PGNiG said late Monday it received an application from Gazprom Export seeking to raise the price of gas supplies, but said the proposal was not justified and did not meet the formal requirements described in contract.
Gazprom Export said earlier that it received a request from PGNiG demanding a revision of the price under the gas supply contract from November 1, 2020.
The contract valid until 2022 encompasses supplies of around 10 billion cubic meters of Russian gas annually.
